Dear Jack,
It's me, Maddie! I'm sure your mom told you what happened and I wanted to let you know that you were my best friend and I loved you very much! My favorite memories with you are our sleepovers- thanks for always letting me sleep in your bed...and for sharing your bones and toys with me. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to you, nose to nose and give you kisses, but remember the fun times we had together and smile, because I'm smiling too (snaggle tooth and all)!
Don't spend too much time missing me, you'll make new friends and they'll be lucky to have you! Tell my mom and dad the same thing, I want you all to be happy. Don't feel guilty, I'm in a better place now- all dogs go to heaven!

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. It's been a tough week since mom told me I'd lost my best friend. I'm hopeful though...Aunt Ashley and Uncle Travie are talking about finding me a new friend. No one will ever replace Maddie but I will be sure to welcome a new friend with open paws :)
