Lord of the Flies

Sometimes the best way to catch a fly is to approach it slowly, behind a curtain, and stand to meet it face-to-face...

...Other times you just have to sit and wait patiently for it to give up.

Beach day in January

I'm not one to brag but with the heavy storms pounding the East Coast I can't complain either. Where else but San Diego can you have a beach day in January?

I hope you're staying warm and dry wherever you are!

Mt. Woodson

This weekend I was lucky enough to have mom and dad home and extra day for a holiday! Woohoo! This meant plenty of time at the park, the beach (post to come later) and even a hike at Mt. Woodson in Ramona. It's about 2.2 miles each way, with plenty of bushes and trees to mark. The view from the top was worth the steep incline:

Check out my snazzy hiking backpack too! I am a big dog now, I even carry my own water!

Treats and water to refuel

While I posed nicely for a picture...

Maddie had a little bit harder time! This was the best shot we could get, with Aunt Ashley's arm to hold her in place...haha!

We will definitely be back here again :)

Let's do the wave!

As dogs, we are naturally pretty friendly. Well, most of us anyway. The big grey pit bull in our neighborhood is not friendly though mom says it's not ok to stereotype so we're chalking it up to the way he was raised, not as a statement of his innate nature. At least that's what she says and I nodd along.

However, I am a VERY sociable dog. I like to meet every person, dog, cat, etc. that crosses my path. I like friends. Most of the time licking someone's face or smelling their butt is not accepted so mom taught me a trick that seems to be more acceptable:

The lesson here: Don't judge or stereotype and always remember that a wave is nicer than a butt sniff!

Sunny Days

What could be better than a sunny day at the park with mom and dad?

Dear Mom,

I'm guessing by the look on your face and the tone in your voice that DVD's are not meant to be eaten.

Lesson learned.
