My Favorites: Sunny Saturdays

What if we got to hang out with our best friends and closest family on every sunny Saturday afternoon? Sounds like a perfect life to me!

Coronado Dog Beach

I'm just settling in for bed after a looooong afternoon with Mom and Dad on Coronado Island, specifically at Coronado Dog Beach. I've always been a fan of Del Mar's Dog Beach but I also didn't know that there was a dog beach in Coronado. Since Dad just moved down there for work (Coronado, not the beach...) we decided to spend a few hours exploring the area.

Of course I got to chase the ball!

One of the cool things about this dog beach that makes it different than Del Mar is that it's actually a human beach too! People were laying out, relaxing, and enjoying themselves just as much as us dogs!

There's even a dog wash area on your way out, although we didn't take the time to use it. We rushed off to see where Dad works and then got a little food at Miguelito's where they are nice enough to let dogs like me sit with their humans on the patio. They even brought me a nice bowl of water too!

Overall it was a great afternoon and we will definitely be back!

Surf's Up!

Do you remember my post from a few weeks ago when Kayna and I had a photoshoot with Alicia Anthony for an upcoming article? Well we've gone to press! That's right, the media is a-calling and I'M FAMOUS!!!! Ok I don't know if that's totally true but we made it in StubbyDog! You all have USWeekly and People Magazine but in my world, StubbyDog is true celebrity status.

The article is available here, along with a great slideshow of Alicia's pictures, many of which I didn't post to the blog last time.  Alicia also made a cool video which is too good to miss. Even Mom and Dad make an appearance! If nothing else it will put you in the mood to take your pup to the beach. Happy first day of summer! Surf's up!

I love camping!

This past weekend we went out to Lake Hemet {side note: did you know there is a lake in Hemet?} and I had a BLAST chasing the ball, swimming in the lake, and just living the good life. The first night was a bit scary since the winds were blowing like crazy and the tent was swaaaaying but I got to cuddle with Mom and Dad so I can't complain too much. I mean really, what could be better than this?

That one with the bike is for you GGpa Bob!

There's my dad, with our friend Natasha. For a human's perspective on camping don't skip her blog here!

Shiba Inu Puppy Cam

Have you had a chance to watch the puppy cam? Kika, a Shiba Inu, gave birth to six puppies on April 14 and the world has been captivated watching their growth. Here they are as young pups:

Now I made a pretty cute pup too but nothing beats SIX puppies playing, eating, and growing together. There are three boys (Chozen, Chame, and Chikara) and three girls (Chisaki, Chiyoko and Charlotte), all with wonderful forever homes waiting for them once they are old enough to leave their mother and their siblings.

Check out the video feed below and try to convince me that we don't all give a collective "awwww" at that adorable little family!

Loyalty

You don't have to understand Japanese to feel the emotions in this story. This little dog wouldn't leave his friend after the natural disasters hit.

Both dogs are now in the care of a local animal shelter. Now that's a real friend!

I love you!

I have learned some pretty good tricks over the last couple of years including saying goodbye, spinning in a circle, giving a high five, shaking hands, playing dead, and even standing on my hindlegs. Perhaps I should add a post of my many skills? Hmmm.

No matter what Mom has taught me, nothing matches Mischka's skills...check this out:

I have to set my goals much higher!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday was my dad's 26th birthday. He whined about getting old but I reminded him that in no time I will pass him up! We celebrated with some cake last night and even I got a special treat! :)

Dad's gift table, including a nice card from GGPa Bob and GGMa Norma!
Yum!!!

Now just remember...birthdays are about cake, not some silly number!

Cool Pedigree Ad

I'm a Blue dog myself but who doesn't love treats.
In honor of Halloween, I'd take a treat over a trick any day!

Playing tag with Dad

What a way to start the year...playing with Dad!

Mom is loving her new camera, a Christmas present from Dad this year so expect many more pictures, videos and blogs from me :)

Oh and have you heard? They are finally going to make it official! Mom and Dad are engaged!! I'm not totally sure what that means but Mom has a BIG shiny thing on her finger and they can't stop smiling. Must be a good thing!

Dogs in the news

I don't get to catch up on my news all that much (what with my busy schedule of chewing, pooing and running around..) but when I do I love any story about dogs :) Here are a few of my new favorites:

The Smartest Dogs
And yes, I rank #3...well, at least part of me does.

Puppies with a Purpose
I'm not quite this well-trained but I try...

Disease-sniffing dogs?
What a good skill to have!

As you can tell I like videos best since I haven't really learned to read yet. I hope you do too!
