Today was hard

This morning was rough. One of my best friends Johnny has been staying with us the past month and today he had to go home. I sat and waited patiently for him to return with no luck :(

Fortunately a little cuddle time with Dad helped me feel better.

How much longer do you think I can milk this?

My first day in the snow needs little explanation. It was perfect.

Happy New Year! I hope 2012 is just as fun!

Happy Anniversary!

One year ago today I was lucky enough to be the ring bearer in Mom and Dad's wedding. It was an incredibly rainy day and for a minute there we weren't sure if the wedding would happen outside like Mom had hoped. Luckily the sky cleared about an hour before the ceremony, they threw out the chairs really quick, and we made it happen!

My beautiful homemade collar was a great accessory

My big debut -- walking down the aisle!

Taking time to stop and smell the roses, of course

Our first picture as The Piedrahitas
A year later they're still just as lovey, mushy and goofy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Just a note: All pictures were by D. Roa Photography. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you NEED to. She's amazing, obviously.

Fan Mail

This picture came in an email from Johnny with the text,
"Remember we're still best friends."

Of course we are! How could I ever forget?

Introducing: Kayna!

Mom and Dad have been keeping all kinds of secrets from you, our loyal readers. Shame on them! I would have told you but as you know, I still can't type on my own!

About two weeks ago they put in an application to be foster parents with Pit Bull Rescue San Diego. A very nice lady came and visited our home, asked a bunch of questions about me, and told us we passed! I didn't really know what that meant at the time but when they called on Thursday to offer me a "foster sister" I said yes!

Meet...Kayna! She is about two and a half months old, a pit bull and labrador retriever mix who is a really big sweetheart.

Isn't she cute??? Mom says we will probably only have her for a few weeks since she already has a couple of people wanting to adopt her. I'm not surprised though, she is a pretty good dog. She already knows how to sit and mom promises to teach her some of the cool stuff I know. Here we are sitting like the wonderful pups we are...

We've also been on a few walks together and she does really well. She gets a little tangled up in her leash but that's to be expected since her legs are so short!

Mom guesses that Kayna is probably about 15 pounds so she is considerably smaller than I am and we are still learning how to play together. I can't figure out how to wrestle with her...she's just so small! She also hasn't learned that the humans don't like when you pee inside. Oops! I'm sure she will catch on, it will just take some time.

If you have any questions about how you can adopt Kayna be sure to email me. I'll send you everything you need to know :)

Co-sleeping

I had a VERY busy weekend. Dad went out of town to Las Vegas with a bunch of his guy friends so Ashley and Maddie came over to stay with us! YAY!

On top of having my best dog friend around, my best human friend came into town too. Johnny! He is dad's little brother so technically he is my Uncle but we're so close in age it's more like we are best buds. I am so glad he is back. He never lets me out of his sight and he's the best at holding my bone while I gnaw away. He should be here for the next month or so and he is staying at our house. I am so thrilled I can hardly sit still!!

Finally, after a long weekend of playing with all my best friends I had to collapse down for a nap at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Look who found their way into the bed with me!

Oh and mom apologizes for the very poor photo quality but it was the best she could do from her phone :)

I hope you are enjoying your week and recovering from your weekends too!

Hey mom...can we keep him?!

This past week has been SOOO much fun! Mom got me a cool new friend to play with! Johnny is 10 years old and my dad's little brother (although he's not really that much littler than dad anymore...maybe I should call him dad's younger brother...)

We have had a great time going for walks, playing at the dog park and generally just hanging out. I've been like Johnny's little shadow following him everywhere he goes. At night when mom says it's time for bed I even stand on the inside of the bedroom door just staring at it, hoping she'll let me out again soon so we can keep playing :)

Here's a picture of us cuddling in my bed one night...

Mom says Johnny will have to go back to his house on Friday but I keep hoping he'll stay. I'm going to be so sad without him!
